196 Sports annuncia l’avvio di un’azione giudiziaria nei confronti di Lega Pro per violazione del contratto per la trasmissione delle gare a livello internazionale.

La Piattaforma streaming 196 Sports, di proprietà della società americana Mister C LLC, informa che a seguito della comunicazione informale da parte di Lega Pro, relativa alla volontà di quest’ultima di non procedere più alla distribuzione del canale “Serie C TV”, e dopo diversi tentavi infruttuosi di mantenere in essere gli accordi contrattuali raggiunti nel luglio 2022, ha dato mandato ai suoi legali di adire l’autorità giudiziaria di competenza.

Si chiude così nel peggiore dei modi il rapporto tra la Lega Pro e Mister C LLC, proprietaria della piattaforma di streaming 196 Sports, nata per trasmettere in diretta sui dispositivi iOS, Android, Smart TV e sul decoder CIBORTV tutte le oltre 1100 partite del campionato di Serie C, play off e play out compresi, nonché la Coppa Italia Serie C in tutto il mondo, all’infuori dell’Italia. 

La Mister C LLC, precisiamo, ha sottoscritto un contratto di sub-distribuzione con Lega Pro a partire dalla stagione 2020-2021, confermato nel luglio 2022 per le stagioni 2022/2023 e 2023/2024.

“A pochi giorni dall’inizio del campionato, la Lega Pro, senza neppure una comunicazione ufficiale, ci ha informalmente comunicato la sua intenzione di non voler mettere a disposizione i flussi audio-visivi per la stagione in corso in seguito alla cessazione dell’operatività del canale Serie C TV” spiega l’Avv. Francesco Rizzo Marullo, Vice Presidente per gli USA della Mister C LLC, interpellato sull’argomento. “Riteniamo assolutamente infondate le ragioni della Lega Pro, in quanto non ravvisiamo alcun mutamento sostanziale nell’operatività dei flussi audio-visivi ora licenziati a due diverse società.” “Stando così le cose, prosegue l’Avv. Rizzo Marullo, è di tutta evidenza che la decisione di Lega Pro procuri un danno economico e d’immagine alla ns. società. Per tale motivo ed in assenza di una qualsivoglia intenzione di recedere dai propri intenti da parte di Lega Pro, Mister C LLC si vedrà costretta, suo malgrado, a tutelare le proprie ragioni nelle sedi opportune”.
